“The Book of Mormon is a volume of holy scripture comparable to the Bible. It is a record of God\u2019s dealings with ancient inhabitants of the Americas and contains the fulness of the everlasting gospel….\u00a0The book was written by many ancient prophets by the spirit of prophecy and revelation\u2026.\u00a0The crowning event recorded in the Book of Mormon is the personal ministry of the Lord Jesus Christ among the Nephites soon after His resurrection. It puts forth the doctrines of the gospel, outlines the plan of salvation, and tells men what they must do to gain peace in this life and eternal salvation in the life to come.\u201d (\u201cIntroduction<\/a>,\u201d Book of Mormon)<\/i><\/p>\n

\u201cWe believe that the greatest story ever told in all the annals of history, is the story of the atonement of Christ. The record of his resurrection and ascension, without which the atonement would not have been complete, is the climax to that story, and now, two thousand years after the event, it is still central and pivotal in all true Christian thought\u201d (Hugh B.
